A fine quality handcrafted cover for 3 1/2″ by 5 1/2″ by 1/2″ (9x14x1.3cm) journals like the Moleskine Classic Notebook, Office Depot Foray series, Piccadilly Essential, etc. (Auction includes 1 Eccolo “Cool Jazz Journal”. A popular style in the 1800’s, it features a wrap-around flap that tucks under a leather strap and is bound in fine moroccan leather. They are blind-tooled around the edges and can be further customized with gold tooling (see “PERSONALIZATION” below) In 20 years of book restoration, we’ve seen only a small handful of diaries and pocket Bibles like this, all from the mid to late 1800’s, but it’s a great looking and functioning style that we’d like to bring back! It is bound in genuine morocco (the classic name for goatskin), vegetable-tanned, lined with coated “endsheet” stock, blind tooled around the edges, and can be further tooled in gold (See “personalization” below.) Your journal is slid into the inner pockets, and you’ll find the cover functions as if the journal was bound in place. Removal and replacement of the textblock is just as easy, and we hope this cover will last through many chapters of your life.
